The eviction notice includes an option to agree to mediation with Just Mediation Pittsburgh. which I considered until I discovered that Mr. Webster had a conflict of interest.
Kyle Webster is SHMS’s VP of Housing and General Counsel.
He is also a member of Just Mediation Pittsburgh’s board of directors, a non-profit with less than ten employees.
As VP of Housing at SHMS, Mr. Webster’s primary duty is to act in the best interest of SHMS. Simultaneously, as a board member of Just Mediation Pittsburgh, he has an equal obligation to act in the best interests of tenants who have fallen behind in their rent.
The mediation meeting will involve three participants: a representative from Just Mediation Pittsburgh, myself, and a representative of the landlord.
Please note that Mr. Webster, the Vice President of Housing, oversees all property managers.
